Being a Canadian pop singer, Justin Bieber boasts a net worth of $300 million. Having been discovered on YouTube in 2007, Justin Bieber has amassed a staggering 150 million records sold globally alongside numerous successful and lucrative global tours. He is a sensation across the globe, which has consequently made him incredibly wealthy. During his touring years, Justin happens to be one of the top-earning entertainers globally, raking in a personal income range of $60-80 million from all revenue streams. In December 2022, Justin finalized a deal to sell his music catalog rights for a whopping $200 million. Justin Bieber’s journey began as a Canadian pre-teen who posted musical videos on the internet circa 2007/2008. The rest, as they say, is history.
Early Life of Justin Bieber
March 1, 1994, saw the birth of Bieber in London, Ontario. With his parents never tying the knot and his mother being underage when he delivered, Bieber was predominantly raised by his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather. His skill set includes playing the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. In 2012, he graduated from St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford, Ontario.
A pivotal moment in 2007 was when the 12-year-old Bieber performed Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” at a local singing competition in Stratford, securing the second position. Following the performance, his mother shared a video of the act on YouTube to allow friends and family to revel in his talent, leading to a string of cover song uploads.

Breaking Into the Spotlight
During a hunt for videos of another vocalist, music executive Scooter Braun accidentally stumbled upon one of Bieber’s clips from 2007. Captivated by the talent displayed, Braun took the initiative to locate Bieber and convince his mother to allow him to take Bieber to Atlanta for recording some demos. It only took a week in Atlanta for Bieber to find himself crooning in front of R&B luminary Usher.
Subsequently, he signed up with Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a collaboration between Braun and Usher, who facilitated his audition with The Island Def Jam Music Group. Bieber’s journey with Island Records commenced in October 2008, prompting a move to Atlanta with his mother to continue working alongside Braun and Usher. Braun officially took on the role of Bieber’s manager in 2008.
The year 2010 saw Bieber unleash a two-part debut album titled “My World” and “My World 2.0”. Promotional endeavors for the album entailed performances on an array of live shows such as “The Today Show,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Good Morning America,” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Less than two months post-release, “My World” had already surpassed a million album sales in the US alone, eventually securing a 5x platinum certification from the RIAA. “My World” scripted history by being the premier debut album to house four singles (One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, Love Me, and Favorite Girl) in the Billboard Top 40 before the album’s official launch. “My World 2.0” stole the limelight by debuting atop the U.S. Billboard 200, retailing 698,000 copies within the initial three weeks. This feat christened Bieber as the youngest male solo act to dominate the chart since Stevie Wonder’s stint in 1963. The track “Baby,” featuring rapper Ludacris, became Bieber’s highest-selling single, with over 15 million copies sold worldwide. His second album, a festive ensemble named “Under the Mistletoe,” sold 2 million copies, while his third offering, “Believe,” from 2012, found takers to the tune of 3 million copies worldwide.

Prolific Musical Journey
With Bieber’s star on an upward trajectory, the 3D amalgamation of biopic and concert film “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” hit the screens in February 2011. Clocking a box office triumph with an estimated $12.4 million haul on its debut day from 3,105 theaters, the film amassed over $98 million globally. Alongside the film, Bieber released the compilation “Never Say Never – The Remixes” (Feb. 2011). By June 2011, Bieber had clinched the runner-up spot on the Forbes Best-Paid Celebrities under 30 list, pulling in $53 million in a 12-month span.
The festive album “Under the Mistletoe” graced the airwaves in October 2011, propelling the star to stardom, succeeded by “Believe” in June 2012 and “Believe Acoustic” in January 2013. In December 2013, “Justin Bieber’s Believe,” a sequel to his initial film, landed under director Jon M. Chu’s belt. His track “Where Are Ü Now” from February 2015 snagged a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Dance Recording. Bieber secured a Guinness World Record for the youngest male artist to debut at the apex of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his single “What Do You Mean” from the “Purpose” album (Nov. 2015). His subsequent collection, “Changes,” saw its unveil on February 14, 2020.
In 2021, Bieber rolled out his sixth studio album, “Justice,”
Justin Bieber marked a return to his pop roots, becoming the youngest solo artist to have eight US number-one albums, surpassing Elvis Presley. By January 2022, he had set a then-record for the most monthly listeners in Spotify history at 94.68 million.
Among the notable singles and collaborations he’s worked on are “Cold Water” (2016) with Major Lazer and MØ, “Déjà vu” (2016) with Post Malone, “Despacito” (2017) with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, “I’m the One” (2017) with Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, and DJ Khaled, “Bad Guy” (2019) with Billie Eilish, and “Up at Night” by Kehlani.
As of now, the music video for “Baby” on YouTube has exceeded 2.9 billion views, while “Sorry” has garnered over 3.6 billion views. In total, he boasts over 71 million subscribers on YouTube.
Catalog Sale
In December 2022, news broke that Justin was close to finalizing a $200 million deal to sell his music catalog rights to Hipgnosis, a publicly traded music investment vehicle. This deal meant that Hipgnosis would henceforth earn all the revenue from Justin’s songwriting credits and royalty stream. It was the largest catalog purchase Hipgnosis had made up to that point, nearly doubling the amount paid to Justin Timberlake earlier in 2022.
The official confirmation of the deal came in January 2023 but did not include Bieber’s master recordings and various other copyrights, which remain under the ownership of his record company, Universal Music Group.

Personal Life

The couple eventually reconciled in May 2018, leading to an engagement in July 2018 and an official wedding ceremony on September 30, 2019. Real Estate
Back in 2012, a home in the exclusive Calabasas gated community called The Oaks was purchased by an 18-year-old Justin for $6.5 million. It was in this house that Justin had several encounters with neighbors. Complaints about his loud parties and friends speeding through the quiet streets were a common occurrence. One notable incident in 2014 involved Justin throwing eggs at a neighbor’s house, captured by security cameras, resulting in thousands of dollars in damages. This incident led to Justin being briefly detained at home while the police executed a felony search warrant. After paying $80,000 to settle the matter, Justin sold the property in 2014 for $7.2 million to Khloe Kardashian.
Justin lived a somewhat nomadic life over the next five years, renting homes in various parts of the world. For instance, in much of 2019, they were spending a staggering $100,000 a month to rent a home in Toluca Lake, California.
In March 2019, Justin acquired a Beverly Hills mansion for $8.5 million, which was sold fully furnished in 2021 for $7.995 million.
In August 2020, a new home was purchased by Justin in Beverly Hills for $28.5 million. Situated high in the Beverly Hills mountains within the ultra-exclusive gated community of Beverly Park, the property counts Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, Rod Stewart, and Sylvester Stallone as nearby neighbors. Two years before the Bieber acquisition, the residence was listed for $42 million. Spanning 2.5 acres, the estate features an 11,000-square-foot mansion.
In addition to their other properties, Justin and Hailey own a $5 million lakeside home in Ontario.
