What is Trick Daddy’s Net Worth?

With a net worth of $150,000, Trick Daddy is an American rapper, actor, and producer. His birth name is Maurice Samuel Young, and he has significantly contributed to the hip-hop scene over the years. Beginning his career in Liberty City, Young gained prominence in the late 90s and collaborated with well-known artists such as Lil Jon, Twista, the Ying Yang Twins, DJ Khaled, Young Jeezy, among others.

Throughout his career, Trick Daddy has faced numerous financial and legal challenges. From an early age, Maurice found himself frequently in and out of prison, establishing a pattern of legal troubles. Despite his achievements in the music industry, Young has had difficulty preserving his wealth, declaring bankruptcy or attempting to do so multiple times.

Financial Issues

On August 31, 2015, Trick Daddy submitted a bankruptcy petition in Florida. His filing indicated that he possessed approximately $430,000 in assets but carried $630,000 in liabilities. He reported monthly earnings around $14,000, primarily sourced from music royalties and club appearances.

At the time of his bankruptcy declaration, Trick Daddy owed roughly $35,000 in child support to one former girlfriend and an additional $22,000 to another. Additionally, he apparently owed $290,000 in back taxes and $280,000 in mortgage payments.

Reports in 2019 indicated that Trick Daddy had filed for bankruptcy again. According to court documents, he owed over $800,000 to a variety of creditors, claiming to have $0 in his checking account and only $150 worth of clothing. Nevertheless, he still owned a Miramar home valued at $350,000, claiming it was furnished with items worth about $1,500. His share in Trick & Rick Music Publishing was reportedly worth just $5,000.

This latest bankruptcy was primarily tied to real estate debts, and it was widely speculated that the filing aimed to prevent the sale of his home at auction. At that point, he owed more than $435,000 to his mortgage lender. Since 2015, he had not made any progress in paying off the $290,000 owed to the IRS, and his outstanding child support payments remained at $57,000. Additional court documents indicated that Trick Daddy’s three previous bankruptcy attempts had all failed, with the cases dismissed by the court.

Early Life

Maurice Samuel Young was born in Miami, Florida, on September 27th, 1974. Growing up in Liberty City alongside ten siblings, he was mainly raised by his mother, navigating the challenges of a low-income neighborhood from an early age. His father, a local pimp, took him in as a teenager, during which Maurice first got involved in illegal activities. By age 15, he was dealing crack cocaine.

After being arrested for drug and firearm possession, circumstances worsened once released. He was re-arrested on the same day for attempted murder after shooting a man in the street. At 20, Young faced a lengthy prison sentence, all while grappling with the murder of his brother during this turbulent time.

Career

Upon his release from prison, Young met Ted Lucas, the founder of Slip-N-Slide Records, who urged him to pursue a rap career to avoid incarceration. Taking this advice seriously, the rising star made his debut on the 1996 album “Uncle Luke,” followed by his first full album “Based on a True Story” in 1997. This led to the release of “www.thug.com,” which contained the hit track “Nann Nigga,” peaking at number three on the rap charts.

His next album, “Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47,” came out in 2000, followed by “Thugs Are Us” the following year and “Thug Matrimony: Married To The Streets” in 2004, which featured the hit “Let’s Go,” a partnership with Twista. He went on to collaborate with other notable artists like Ying Yang Twins, DJ Khaled, and Pitbull. By 2008, Trick Daddy had left Slip-N-Slide Records to establish his own label and worked with Young Jeezy in 2011 before releasing a mixtape. Currently, he frequently tours across the United States.

In 1993, Trick Daddy faced charges of cocaine possession, carrying a concealed weapon, and probation violations, resulting in a 15-month sentence in a Florida state prison. His legal troubles continued in 2003 with an arrest on gun charges, followed by drug possession charges later that same year.

In 2014, he was apprehended outside his home in Miramar, Florida, on counts of cocaine and weapons possession. After police were granted a search warrant for his property and dogs were used for assistance, Young attempted to drive away. Police stopped him, reminding him that he was operating a vehicle on a suspended license.

Inquiring if their warrant related to his unpaid child support, Young admitted to having drugs on his premises, prompting police to obtain a full warrant resulting in the discovery of a small quantity of cocaine and multiple firearms. He was eventually released on a bond of $6,100.

In 2020, Young failed a sobriety test when stopped by police in Miami. Following his arrest, he surrendered his belongings, during which officers uncovered a small amount of cocaine concealed in a dollar bill. Consequently, he faced charges for DUI and cocaine possession.

Real Estate

As disclosed in Trick Daddy’s 2019 bankruptcy filing, he owned a residence in Miramar, Florida, which was estimated to be worth $350,000. The home encompasses approximately 4,000 square feet of living area and is situated near Miramar Regional Park.
