What Is the Distance from Red Rock Casino to The Strip in Las Vegas?
Red Rocks is situated 11 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, providing a different atmosphere compared to the crowded and lively strip. Nevertheless, it is conveniently reachable with a 15-20 minute drive from the airport. You can arrive via rental car, Uber, or taxi. Additionally, Red Rocks is near the Red Rocks National Conservation Area, which offers stunning views of the Red Rock Hills. Every morning, guests can relish the scenic drive through the park.
Property:
The Red Rocks Casino Resort features a compact resort complex that includes a casino with a variety of games and a pool complex equipped with private cabanas.
Upon entering the resort, guests are welcomed by a modern lobby design complete with check-in desks and a bar. After checking in, visitors can take the elevator to one of the towers housing around 800 hotel rooms. It’s essential to note that there are only two elevator banks in the tower: one at the beginning and another in the middle leading to the pool area. Guests with rooms located at the opposite end of the floor may need to walk a significant distance from the lobby elevator bank to reach their room.
After ascending the stairs, guests will find a Starbucks and the entrance to the Casino area. Throughout the casino, sit-down restaurants and lounges are available, along with access points to the pool area and spa.
Casino:
Spanning over 118,000 square feet, Red Rocks boasts a large casino featuring all the classic games such as roulette, blackjack, craps, and poker. The casino provides a range of minimum bet options from $10 to $25. Moreover, there are 2,800 slot machines, including penny slots and more advanced choices. Players can also engage in table games, either through computerized versions or with live dealers.
As a Station Casinos property, Red Rocks offers a VIP Players Club. It is advisable to enroll in the VIP Players Club prior to gambling. By signing up, you could win up to $500 in free slot play. I received $5 in free slot play, which resulted in $72 in winnings. If you book a room at Red Rocks, you are automatically enrolled in the club, but your credit will expire within 24 hours of check-in. If you miss this window, the VIP Players desk attendants can reactivate it for you.
Pool Area:
The pool area is the main highlight of the Red Rocks Resort, covering 3 acres and featuring pools of various sizes, a fountain, loungers, day beds, and 19 private cabanas. Guests can indulge in food, drinks, and gaming at the pool bar. Outside food and drinks are prohibited, except for those from hotel establishments. The Sand Bar provides a selection of food and drinks, and servers are present around the pool area to take orders and deliver them to guests.
Family-friendly, the pool area includes a separate private 21+ and 18+ section. To access this area, you must rent a cabana for the day. Cabana prices range from $150 to $400 on weekdays and weekends, potentially reaching up to $700 on holiday weekends. You can reserve a cabana in advance by contacting the concierge. Each cabana rental comes with water, soft drinks, fruit, pastries, and candy for up to 6 people. A cabana host will cater to your needs, and you can order food from the Sand Bar. Bottle service is available, and during our visit, we enjoyed Tito’s Vodka and mixers.
For those seeking more budget-friendly options, daybed rentals are available at the beach club instead of cabanas. Free lounge chairs are also provided, but it’s important to note that they tend to fill up quickly, especially the shaded ones, by 9am.
Restaurants:
The resort features a diverse selection of
Guests have a variety of food options available. Among the sit-down restaurants are a steakhouse, Italian cuisine, and sushi. I had a delightful brunch at Lucky Penny, enjoying classic dishes such as Eggs Benedict and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Each restaurant features a full bar with cocktails, wines, and beer on offer.
The Sandbar Grille serves the pool area, providing standard sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers like Mediterranean platters and nachos. For larger groups, it’s advisable to order a pitcher of drinks. Our drink of choice was Long Island Ice Teas.
Throughout the casino, various bars and lounges are present, including the Onyx Bar, known for its signature cocktails, and the Flying Pig Lounge, which boasts a Southern vibe. Additionally, similar to many Vegas casinos, complimentary drinks are offered to patrons gambling on the floor.
The resort features a range of dining options, including a food court with pizza, sandwiches, fast food, and ice cream. There are also two Starbucks on the premises for breakfast. For added convenience, guests can take advantage of 24-hour room service for food delivery to their rooms at any time.
Other Amenities:
Guests were provided with complimentary valet parking, ensuring quick retrieval of their cars.
Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the resort and common areas, with users required to log in every 24 hours.
The Red Rocks Resort includes a full spa on-site. We experienced the manicure/pedicure service and found it to be very satisfying. The spa chairs were clean, the service was exceptional, and the polish lasted longer than expected. Although prices were on the higher side, they could be conveniently charged to the room.
Rooms:
We reserved two Luxury Two Queens Rooms at the hotel, which were quite impressive. The rooms were spacious, featuring two queen beds, a sitting area with a view of the red rocks, a desk, a large closet, and ample storage space. The sheets and comforter were soft, and the pillows provided great comfort. I had restful nights throughout our stay. These rooms are ideal for a family of four with small or tween-sized children.
The rooms include a stocked minibar and snacks. The minibar is equipped with sensors that detect any movement of items, charging the room accordingly. Guests cannot rearrange items in the minibar to store personal belongings. A mini-fridge can be rented for $15 a day, but it is complimentary if needed for medication that requires refrigeration.
The bathroom in the room was a standout feature. It was spacious, equipped with two sinks, a large mirror, and a lit-up makeup mirror. The toilet had a sliding door for added privacy. The shower featured a rain showerhead and luxurious toiletry products. The fluffy, oversized towels were a nice touch for larger individuals. The soaking bathtub was a highlight, allowing for full-body immersion. Enjoying a 20-minute bubble bath in the tub was a delightful and memorable experience.
Staff:
The staff at the Red Rocks resort were very accommodating. The concierge helped us secure a cabana during a holiday weekend and even placed us on a waitlist for the next day when we wanted to enjoy the experience again. Although we chose not to take the offer when a cabana became available, we appreciated the quick assistance.
During our stay, we received excellent poolside service. Asten, our initial server, was friendly and provided helpful suggestions for drinks and food. She set a positive atmosphere for our girls’ weekend. The following day, Lindsey and Michelle, our cabana hosts, made sure we were satisfied and energized. They prepared delicious rainbow-colored drinks and addressed all our inquiries. Our servers significantly enhanced our experience.
Conclusion:
Should you stay: ABSOLUTELY!
