Growing up in a farming family in Hokitika has prepared RNZ reporter Teresa Cowie well for a life in journalism. While training at the BBC she spent time filming surgeons wearing their white wellies in theatre, or donning her own green gumboots as she chased pigs for a farming programme. When not in gumboots, you might find her in ballet shoes or riding her highly impractical yet, delightfully traditional bicycle.
